  • Re: Beocenter 9500 glass panel tape cleanup

I finally decided to try and glue the panel in. The Loctite 480 glue is very runny so I squirted some into a small container first. Then, using a small art brush, applied this to the plastic frame. I brushed it on fairly thin so as to not have any seep out the sides when the panel is applied. I had marked each piece of the frame in pencil so I wouldn't

A very good point about the risk of seapage around the beveled edges being visible. I gather 1mm think tape is ok? The stuff I had in mind is paper thin.

  • Re: Beocenter 9500 glass panel tape cleanup

Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated. I've got the glass panel cleaned up now and ready for the next stage of mounting. I used a Citrus degreaser. Applied this to the old sticky tape using a fine art brush. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then I could scrape the tape away quite easily with my fingernail. Any last residue then cleaned off with

I see that there has been mention on this site by another member of soaking the glass panel in warm soapy water and this then allows the old tape to be removed more easily. Anyone else tried this method? As you can tell, I'm rather paranoid about damaging the paint and graphite coating!

  • Beocenter 9500 glass panel tape cleanup

I have a Beocenter 9500 where the tape holding the lower touch panel glass in place has failed. I've removed the old tape from the plastic frame that the glass sits in and cleaned the sticky residue with Isoproply Alcohol. However, removing the old tape from the glass panel is proving a little tricker. I'm worried about scratching the black

  • Re: Workshop Beolab 2500 Audiophil

The BC9500 preamp board circuit appears quite similar to that of the BM7000. The workshop article you had on modifying the preamp got me thinking about doing something similar to the BC9500 board. Looking at the diagram above, with the OPAmp replaced with OPA2134, could C204, 205 and 211 be replaced with a wire link? I see also that in your BM7000 mod

@ Die_Bogener: Excellent workshop article! Thanks for sharing the information. I’m hoping you can help me. I have recently acquired a Beocenter 9500 which I’m in the process of upgrading the opamps and caps. However, looking at the circuit diagram I see that one of the caps in the audio path (C201) between the output of ic1 on the preamp

  • Beocord 7000 Repair/ Upgrade Project

My Beocord 7000 was in need of some attention. When playing a tape the sound quality was not great and had a very pronounced “warble” to it. There was also an annoying mechanical ticking noise. So with the prospect of having to pull the machine apart, why not replace the belts and all the Capacitors at the same time. Replacing the caps was

  • Re: Beocord 7000 Fault

I've also got a Beocord 5000 and 5500. The mechanics on the BC7000 just looks and feels cheap compared to the other two. I didn't know that there was an issue with the BC7000 mech's. I've left the head unit alone as much as possible as I'm very weary of changing any alignment. Could you elaborate on the fix you mentioned. I did have
