Hi Paul, The best answer may depend on how serious you are planning to be about vinyl. The 4500 has the benefit of an inbuilt RIAA pre-amp (as do the BG 6500 and BG7000 which are the same deck mechanically but with different styling). These are fine turntables (I have recently bought a 6500) but are, as Chartz says, definitely not a BG 400X. However

Lee, I joined 'Beoworld' over two years ago as a 'Gold' member and since then have found the thoughfulness and generosity of the members almost astonishing. The site has been a source of amusement, information, cameraderie and indeed friendship, as it has introduced me to a number of people I would never have met. In some ways, it has

I'm not sure it's under- rated; probably just under-discussed. If I were limited to just one Beomaster, this might be the one I would go for, combining as it does the styling of the 8000 with much of the electronics of arguably the best sounding Beomaster of them all - the 4400. There are supposedly some concerns about long term reliablity and
Thanks Cleve for your comment! But I have already 3 pairs of speakers and just wondering whether my BC9500 will work with CX 100 as good as with P45? Do you have such experience? When I connected CX 100 to Beosystem 5500 they sounds great, just bass is a little bit "thin". It was just to check how they work

Hi Mitko, I was never very good at arithmetic, but if you buy a BC7700 and a BM 2400 and have a BC9500 already, you may need 3 pairs of loudspeakers! I currently use a pair of P45s with a 9500 and I think they work really well together in a smallish room (25sq mtrs) I did have a BM 2400 and used that with my S45.2s, and that combination also sounded

Newer systems probably sound better....
But you're wrong! Newer systems only sound better because all the components are fresh. Restore a vintage system, with fresh components where required, and it will outperform a new system every time! For the purposes of honest comparison
Also somebody please tell me how to set the clock on beocentre 2500.
On the Beolink 5000, press 'Programme' on the rear set of keys. The screen now shows 'Timer Record?' Using the down arrow key on the inner set of keys set in a circle, press until you get the option 'set clock?'
It would be interesting to have some photos to see how you have made the mounting of the wooden frame. Congratulation for this beautiful update!
I agree with both comments. I have often thought about trying to do something similar with my CDX using some old Rosewood front and side panels from a Beogram 1700

My infection with Beofever reflects those diseases that lay dormant in the body for many years and only fully present themselves in all their virulence at a much later date - in my case 30 years later! It started, almost imperceptibly, in 1971, with just a single purchase of a Beogram 1001. I didn't even recognise it as a problem. A few years later
Got an Artemide Tizio 50 Lamp (designed in the early 70s) on the desk as well, wanted to have on for ages, but forgot about it, now just bought it.
Ralf, A great work/desklight. I think Richard Sapper is one of the great product designers of the last 30 years. His kettle and coffee maker for Allessi are beautiful
