Crap! What differs between bl5000 and an mcp? Are there two versions of 2-way communication?
-
True. But if the master is set to correct mode and control is all that is asked for this should work.
-
Doesnt this depend on the tv in question? according to the mcp manual it is capable of controlling a video source.
-
Is it still possible to upgrade the software in a BeoMaster 4500 to 2.1(or later) in order to get 2-way communication? Are the EEPROMs still in stock? If so, will it work with my precious MCP 6500 or did it only work with BL5000? Would make up a great weekend gift.

Welcome to Beoworld! Glad to see that you want to join this little boys club. I'm a uni student aswell.

Thanks. What a wonderful resource this forum is. I summize that those of you who have got a rarity like this should consider yourself very lucky. Just out of interest, how many black beosystems were produced? That might give a hint as to how many mcp's are collecting dust.
-
Quite a surprice to find that it is so rare... Lee, do you know how many were made? Was it a part of the bs7000? I thought that the MCP line was replace by the bl7000... What would be the retail on one of these?
-
Great! I have never heard of a black mcp 6500 and therefor i assume that the one i saw is also a master control panel. I remember something about "7000" being left out but i cant remember why. Is it indeed a rare edition to go with the beosystem 7000?
-
I does stand out but to me it looked quite dramatic where it sat. Is it such a rare beast? Is there perhaps a proud owner out there?
-
I remember seing a photo of one once but ofcourse i couldnt find it now. Are there any records of a black one in production?
