I'm using Beolab3's (4) and a beolab2. It's great to be able to hear the voices instead of too much surround through the 7.4 speaker. Although I would hardly call the 7.4 speaker "Basic"

So my saga has now finished... After having the BV8-40 for about 6 weeks & not being over impressed with it, my B&O dealer (I cannot speak more highly of them) gratefully upgraded the unit to the BV7-40 which arrived this week, being so far from the dealer though I did have to set it up myself,(with a PS3, Xbox360, WDTV, and all the speakers

Film Mode!! I was under the impression that the BV7-40 did'nt suffer from this problem, only the BV8-40 did?? I'm taking delivery off my new BV7 this weekend hopefully? (without any bluray or DVD player).

Hmmm, I forgot about the glass infront of the BV7, I got the BV8-40 and the picture (after turning off 'Film Mode') is nice and bright, infact it's one of the best screen's I've seen. I too am still wondering wether I should upgrade to the new BV7-40 as my dealer has offered me an upgrade. the reason would be the BV7.4 speaker, It

Ok, so before I start messing with the Service menu settings, I thought maybe I should get to know what they mean? - Dynamic Compression (default=Off) - New AVI CVBS HW (default=Enable) - Black Bar Detection (default=Enable) - Film Mode (default=Enable) although I have switched this Off for a much better picture! Can anyone shine some light as to what

Like i said, i'll check in the morning, but I know the BV8 had trouble decoding 5.1 using PCM, but worked fine using Bitstream, maybe it's just the BV8??

I think you have to set the audio output on your PS3 to Bitstream not PCM, but I will check in the morning and confirm. cheers splud

I have the BV8-40 and have turned off the film mode! The film mode was making the image seem unreal...Any other settings I should know about and try? Splud
