  • Re: Beocord 5000 or 5500 vs. proffesional Tascam Rackmount cassette...

Yeah I've bought a tascam 644 4-track and it has a 16 channel mixer (pretty crazy for a 4 track!), so levels shouldn't be a problem. It's funny, but for the past few months there have been a TON of beocords on ebay and now that I'm looking for them, they've all vanished! Typical eh?

  • Beocord 5000 or 5500 vs. proffesional Tascam Rackmount cassette...

Hi I was just wondering... Obviously I realise that there are a ton of different tascam rackmount cassette models but... I'm just starting a fun project with my best mate from back home (Aylesbury England). He's now in Sheffield England, and I'm in Athens Georgia. We've both bought nice Tascam (Cassette!) 4-tracks and some nice Ampex

That's interesting. It's totally true about the mastering. Generally you will do a master for vinyl and a master for digital. I'm a musician by profession and I find that a lot of people really overdo the compression these days, trying to squeeze that "Excitement" factor into the recording. They try to make it sound really "Hot"

  • Beolink 1000 & Beomaster 5500 Loudeness setting

Hi! I just got my Beolink 1000 in the post (the older type with the "reset" button) and if I press reset it seems to jump to the pevious owners setting or something. Balance is to the right slightly and the treble + bass are up slightly. I can turn these off easy but I can't turn the loudness setting off. Where is that? Cheers Kris

  • Re: BV9+Playstation3+Beo5 = works perfect

By the way, I've been wondering... has any one noticed the similarities between the design of the PS3 (I have one too) and some B&O equipment? It's got a bit of Beocentre 2200 about it + Beolab 4000's. Wonder whether they took inspiration from these at all?

  • Re: Beogram 5005 questions...

Hi Chris, Well I'm a full time musician so I need some inspiration! It's my life to be honest Think I have about 5000 records or something! I'm sure there are a lot of people on here that have even more though! I read posts on the forums and figured out that I needed a beolink 1000 with the reset button on it, so I've got one of those

thanks for the offers guys! I think I've sorted it now! I just gave the leaf spring a bit of a tweak / nudge and it's all working perfectly now! What a great record player! Previously I've just had the cheaper technics models etc, so this is the first time I've owned a turntable of this quality! I'm just listening to my Vinyl copy

Sorry, wasn't very specific there. By little bit of metal I mean the lever that is connected at one end to the screw that you tighten /loosen to adjust the platter height, and at the other to a little hook that actually lifts the platter and mechanics. It's a flat and flexible piece of metal about 1 1/2 inces long. It doesn't seem to be
