I think the eventual choice is up to your own taste. The flat systems (Beosystem 2000 and up) have very distinctive design, and the older systems are quite common. The Beomaster 2000/3000 is quite easy to get for a fair price, but it still looks the part and has OK sound quality. If you're really into the vintage units, try to look for a Beomaster
Any ideas?
Have you tried cleaning the optics? They may have dusted up a bit when you're tinkering around in the unit.

I've been working on this project for about a week now, here's the deal: Lots of Beomasters and Beocenters only have one available TAPE input. On some systems, there's actually no additional input available, or it's built with RCA jacks. Now with the advent of new media devices like HTPC's, set-top boxes, Blu-Ray players and a various
I suppose it's only for the symmetry, the speaker elements being furthest away from each other. In my setup the speakers are anyway just less than a meter away from each other so it doesn't really make that much difference. Also as I don't sit exactly at the center of the speakers and have to adjust
I'm really admiring this! You're complete 4500 is flawless! A great combination of system and speakers
I guess that'll be a pain to polish! Are the Labs going to be on the wall anytime soon? Kevin: I really like your setup. Great combination of old and new. Is that an 8002 Gram?
Hi Stoney3K, just wanted to thank you for posting your findings - only now had time to read them properly. Do you intend to publish the codes, or make me find them out myself? (I don't blame you if you want to keep them to yourself - nobody else publishes anything either, everybody just wants to sell you something

Time to give this thread an update... The (Win)LIRC trick only works for systems equipped with a remote from Beolink 1000 up, since that's the point B&O introduced a new, multiroom-capable, Datalink format as outlined in the MCL2 service manual. The LIRC codes are programmed from that or just trained from a remote. The 'older' (I'll
So, basically, what you want is a list of which components you need to replace, how to do it and with what, which instruments to use and what adjustments to make to repair this Beomaster that was struck by a lightning ? Sounds easy enough. - Not. (...)
I'm an electrical engineer and have already managed to

I'm getting ready to give my BM2000 (291x) a good cleaning, and replace some worn capacitors in the process. Now, the question is, which capactors really need replacing for such an old unit (1983), and, what are their values? I don't need a retail address for a kit, since I can get any capacitor from my wholesale supplier. I'm going to replace
Well if it isn't around there will always be another!
We also have the photo album, but you need to be a Silver/Gold member and ask the administrator if you want to post a photo. Probably to protect from spammers.
