If you dont know how to check a potentiometer, and dont have a multimeter or know how to use it, I think its better for you to find a good repairshop or friend who can help you, on the forum we are very glad to help, but a failure like in your 901 may be more than just a poti, and without any knowledge of electronics, you may do more harm than good

I use Danish oil, which in fact is a boiled Linseed oil, if the teak is lacquered or varnished before, you will have to sand of all the laquer, start with a 180 grain paper, then 220 and at last very fine with 400, then oil, wipe of excess after 1/2 hour, let dry for 24 hours, sand lightly with 400, oil, wipe of excess after 1/2 hour, let dry, done
