  • Re: Mark 1 Pentas with Bevision 7

Well - it has been a few weeks since I started this question when I got a 'job-lot' of the MX7000, Beolink 5000 and MkI Penta's for (not a lot) of Euros, making me a very lucky boy. And a special thanks to Peter, Beoworld, AVLifestyle (Matt) and the boys at B&O Greece who have just left the house - because, joy of all joy, the Pentas

  • Re: speaker opinions via beolink passive

I think this reminds me of something Kafka might have thought up - maybe you could put the shower in the living room, and thus solve the problem? (only joking). I agree that passive would be safer, however, from what I know about water and electicity...

  • Re: New BEO-remote

Thank you all - it works!! Actually, it is funny, but both me and SWMBO like the older Beolink 5000 more than the New one. And now it works with our BV7 and the MX7000. Which is great! Cheers.

  • Re: Why not Gold?

I'm silver and would like to go gold and have a little f next to my name, as I think this site is grrrrreat (as a certain stripy character used to say). BUT when I try, it says that I need to pay GBP30. ut if this is an upgrade from Silver to Gold, shouldn't it be 15? I'm not trying to be stingy or anything, if it's 30 it's 30, i

  • Re: New BEO-remote

Whilst we're on the subject of remotes, with my older TV I have a remote that looks like the Beo4 that I got with the BV7, but the screen is see-through. Actually I quite like it. The funny thing is that it won't work with my BV7 and the Beo4 I got with the BV7 doesn't work with my older TV. Does anyone know why? What do I have to do to

  • Re: Beolab Penta 1 light stays orange...

Peter - sounds right to me, i.e. capacitor - that would explain the crescendo as it fills / empties. I'm not an electronic genius, but I remember at school my technology teacher showing me how a capacitor works with a toilet flush system, and somehow the metaphor has never left me.. Would I be best to take to a B&O dealership to mend, or elsewhere

  • Re: Beolab Penta 1 light stays orange...

Well -to come back to the possible error in these Penta 1s, the orange light problem seems to be going away, strange as it may sound. When I turn the speaker on, it is red - which is fine, because that is telling me that there is no input yet. Then when the siginal arrives, the green light comes on. BUT - for a while (about a minute) there is a large

  • Beolab Penta 1 light stays orange...

Hello all! You'll remember me! I was the one who got a couple of Penta 1s (free) and wanted to join them up with his BV7. Well... I now have the cables needed coming my way, thanks to advice of Peter. GBP25 each (B&O here in Greece wanted EUR90 each!) - and I look forward to at least hearing them. I have found no foam rot - you'll be pleased

  • Re: Mark 1 Pentas with Bevision 7

Thanks, Peter. I'll call him tomorrow! If I can't get the readouts on the speakers to work, then not to worry - but I'm looking forward to hearing them at least. It's a bit worrying as the manual says only Power Link speakers can be used, but I guess that is why I need these cables. I'll let you all know what happens. Kaka.

  • Re: Mark 1 Pentas with Bevision 7

Thanks All. They're definitely Beolab (i.e. amps built in). Any ideas where I can get the Powerlink to RCA connectors? SHould I ask my local Beo shop to help? What I don't understand (and this is probably an astoundinly stupid question) is how the speakers know how loud I want things? Does the BV7 tell them? (stop laughing!). Thanks.
