Dear Frog, Thank you for your prompt reply. I did plug headphones into AUDIO with no joy. I also plugged a pair of PHONOS in to the BeoMedia (between CVBS and AUDIO) and the BV5 via a COMPOSITE/SCART adapter. Again no sound. Thanks again.

Dear BeoPhiles, My BeoMedia flashed up an error message which I didn't understand, so following telephone call to dealer I rebooted it. Error message disappeared but so did sound.
