I'm not sure whether that is the right term, but as I understand it there are small conductive pads (or tracks?) underneath the surface of the glass (on the underside), to which the unit is applying a high frequency signal in order to detect whether the user is touching the glass at that point. If the glass is undamaged they should be fine. Let

Looking for a Beocenter 9500 bottom glass plate (with the plastic mounting frame)... I recently acquired a unit in otherwise good condition but with a tiny chip off the bottom glass. If anyone has a spare glass plate (in good condition, including the control elements on the underside) they are willing to let go, please drop me a PM. Thank you, kind

Okay... will keep in mind. I am contemplating a small project to turn a surplus pair of Beolab Penta's into Beovoxes, and use the Penta amplifiers and displays to effectively turn a pair of passive MS150's into active speakers. If this idea materialises I would be left with a pair of Beovox Penta's which may not look great but should still

Neil, is there a particular part you are looking for?

It worked for me, and I did not experience any drawbacks whatsoever. So far, all of our DVD's play fine on this machine. From memory, I think I had to try different remote controls (Beo4, Beoling 1000, Beolink 7000) before I found one that did the job. I do not remember which one ultimately worked. Good luck and perhaps you can share your experience

In de second life

Thank you mbee... That gives me hope that there may indeed be a solution. I will see what I can find in my spare cable box to test out a VGA connection next week! Kind regards, Eric

Just a quick update, I have now tried connecting using an Apple mini-display-port to HDMI adaptor, but the pixel sharpness has not visibly improved. Just browsing through the BV8-40 user guide which states on page 16 (titled "Use your television as a computer monitor") that it supports the following screen resolutions: "60 HZ; 640 x 480

Thanks for your suggestion, will give it a try. I have indeed experienced sound issues with the Kanex too, where I had to disconnect and reconnect the adaptor in order to get my sound back. It looked like a nice idea but somehow the actual performace is not what I expected.

just tried this yesterday evening, but unfortunately it didn't solve it. Thanks for your suggestion though! Interestingly, I could increase the size of the picture by moving the cursor either to the left or to the right! The best setting is indeed the one in the middle. Nevertheless, my concern about just-not-optimal sharpness remains. I wonder
