Am also a big fan of Beosystem 7000 (Beomaster/Beogram/Beocord and BeogramCD) and love them, I would go for a repair. Im not at all a pro on electronics BUT i would start checking if the Beomaster isnt already "converted" for 110Volt ( i suspect that you are in USA). I personally have no knowledge on this but have seen talk about converting

Also really check that the 7-pin DIN cable from CD have really have all 7 pins in it. You can unscrew the "last" two on in order to make the cable fit a standard DIN -> RCA converter. If its a new CD the prevous owner might have had it connected to a "non-Bang-reciver". Cheers Jesper Sweden

Yea, the nuts are accessable from downunder. I took of platter and tightend the transportscrews. Then turned the beogram over and unscrew the black bottomplate. When removing bottomplate take care of the "wheel" that adjust smaller speedvariates. Inside there you will see the nuts very fast. I also hade problems with downstroke at 33 rpm.

My "bad" BL7000 still works all fine in charger but to be honest I dont use it that much since i have a "good" BL7000 that is my joy :). One downside with the "bad" BL7000 that im abit worried that I never "execise" the battery in the same fashion I do with my "good", since the "bad" mostly

Hi, Im no pro on Beosystem 4500 but I have a Beomaster 7000 wich is pretty near connectionwise :P. Just make sure that the speakers are connected too the Speaker 1 connections and not Speaker 2. The mute-function will not effect Speaker 2 at all. On Penta1 issue, do you have them connected via "speakerlink" (4-pins special DIN) or with "normal"
