Hello Richard, The PLL ref oscillator is the adjustment I referred to. If you have the same wrong colour fault regardless of whether the source is composite or RGB then you can rule out the colour decoder, as running RGB into the set bypasses the Pal decoder. As a follow up for any AVANT DVD owners experiencing the same fault symptoms, this problem has been resolved. It was caused by a faulty DVD power supply module (PCB 75).

Check the DVD power supply module - small switch mode supply in the bottom of the avant under the main chassis. It's a seperate part to the main chassis and a likely suspect.
