• Re: Beomaster 8000, Beocord 8000, Beolab Terminal, Beogram CDX2

Just to add, I am the new owner of the Beolab Terminal and Ralf's helpfulness and packaging are both absolutely superb!

  • Re: Well done B&O!!!

Whilst I am as delighted as anyone else to see B&O doing well, am I really the only one who is ever so slightly depressed that B&O's best ever selling product turns out to be a Chinese-made ghettoblaster, albeit one that looks distinctive and sounds quite good?!

  • Re: How do you see yourself listening to music in the future?

My computer and hi-fi are separate and I intend them to stay that way. I have no interest in downloads, MP3s, streaming or any of this sort of stuff and so it appears that there will be less and less in the B&O range to interest me, which seems a shame. Still, there's plenty of nice secondhand equipment out there. I'm currently aiming for

  • Re: Beomaster 8000 and Beomaster 6500

Yes, the very same. It has also featured a Beocord 2200 and Beocenter 3500 in the last year and an MMCx cartridge rebuild feature last month. This latter issue should still be in the shops if you're quick enough! Regarding the Beogram 4000 article, years ago I bought one, boxed at my local car boot sale for £4. I repaired it and used it for
When are we to expect the review of the 8000 in the magazine? I thought you all had one now! That and a comparison review of the 4400 would be nice!
No, David still doesn't have one yet and so the embargo still stands! Naturally Tim and I wind him up as often as we can, but I actually pointed him in the direction

  • Re: Beomaster 8000 and Beomaster 6500

I can only echo everyone else's sentiments about the BM8000 - it is wonderful piece of machinery and I have used mine a great deal more than I expected since it returned from a big restoration job. I did buy the whole 8000 system knowing that it was needing some attention, but them I am lucky enought to live about 45 minutes drive from a certain

  • Beosound 8 design - interesting news!

In an interesting reversal of roles, it has been recently discovered that none other than PHILIPS were the driving force behind the design of the new Beosound 8.......

  • Re: The BeoSound 8 - Live Review!!!

I was hoping this day would never come, but it has and I am sad. You see, I have just studied this brand new piece of B&O equipment from every angle and the only comment I can come up with is "That is hideous".

  • Re: Why do people put down B&O sound
It could be that there are some B&O fans at Hi-Fi World! A certain Mr T. Jarman writes for them as does one of our own - Mr Adam Smith. I am still waiting for the write up of the 8000 system - I think they are waiting until they all have one before extolling its virtues and putting the price up! I also await the 4400

  • Re: MS150.2 repairs

The PVA type adhesive is absolutely fine to use for refoaming - it's not actually far removed from what many loudspeaker manufacturers use! The joint between the cone/surround and the surround/chassis are not generally highly stressed, and both have a decent area of contact, so an uber-adhesive that will withstand an earthquake is not necessary
