  • Re: beovision 6 and dvi-d!!!

DVI-I = integrated. Means it carries analog and digital signal. The analog RBG are on the pins that surround the wide blade. So if your set doesn't have those openings, it's not gonna accept an analog signal and pulling those pins out of the adapter won't work. You might want to try something like this USB DVI video 'card' http:

  • Re: Beolab 8000 problem

I also use Beolab 8000's with the pre-out of a NAD receiver. I also had only one speaker that buzzed as you describe. I took it to the service center and they 'cleaned the input board' or that's what it said on the work order. I've noticed that B&O don't use gold plated RCA connectors so they tend to oxidize like crazy -

  • Re: Refurb/Redec Beo Installation of Lounge

I am learning lots of great new terms in here: chippy, sparky, etc. And it's interesting to see how differently houses are built in the UK as compared to canada. Mark, what is the age of your house?

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen Rises on Report of Possible Takeover Interest

Craig: Ford also did a very good job when they took over Land Rover. They spent some serious money on the brand, I know I work there. Lets be honest the previous owners BMW only ever wanted the company for it's 4X4 technology. They put it up for sale just after they had released the X5. Off topic, but BMW was making 4wd back in the 80's e30

  • Re: Move from Germany to Canada

Hi Grant, the digital system in canada is different from the euro system (if you're talking built-in tuner). We have something called ATSC. Around 15 channels over the air here in toronto. But most people use digital cable or satellite, which require their own box (PVR). As long as your bv-7 has a DVI or HDMI port it should work with one of those

  • Re: Beomaster 1900 Tape/Phono Line In - low volume

I have two 2400's and the volume on the tape input (using a laptop / ipod) is much lower than the radio volume. There's an adjustment inside the beomaster for this but I haven't bothered to fix it. The source does have to be at max volume. Is it possible you're sending the signal into the tape output part of that connector instead of

  • Re: Good and bad news in the paper

there was a recent article about Skåne in the new york times. Sounds nice " It was like an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog brought to life and fueled by Absolut." http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/08/19/travel/19explorer.html

  • Re: iPod Touch

you can do this with Signal from alloysoft. It turns your ipod touch or iPhone into a remote control with album art for itunes - which can play through airport express. You have to leave a computer on but this seems like a pretty cool solution.

  • Re: Today I got my Beo 5!

Only in the B&O bizarro world would people be eager to pay $800 for a remote control that is not programmable to control any other equipment (a feature available for 1/20th this price). To add to the insanity, they won't even give you the software to program it. Just a trip down the dealer every time you want to change something on it?
