This discussion reminds me of the Porsche dilemma in the late 90's. Company was going down the tubes, only had one high end product, 911, which was uneconomic. So they introduced a much cheaper Boxter which part shared with a new model 911, then the Cayenne, Panemera - the latter which, to the purist, were mass market and diluted the true sports

I would not use Optical lenses as a mark of craftmanship - these highly technical products are machine made regardless of where they are produced, although they may be hand assembled. The quality comes from the optical design and the materials used for manufacture, it has nothing to do with long apprenticeships. I think there is a valid argument regarding

What is particularly "hand-made" about B&O products or in fact any consumer electronics product? Perhaps "hand-assembled" would be a better description. Companies like B&O have to make products at a profit - something they were not doing recently. I cannot see any problem with out sourcing if it make the product of good quality

What is the best way to manage content on the BS5/BM5 using a mac? I can easily add content via Beoconnect, but how do I delete - directly on the mounted BM-Share$ or some other way? Want an easier way than having do any management via the BS5 itself.

Is there not an opportunity for B&O to develop a wireless/ethernet over power linking system so that setting up multiroom, or multi product systems does not involve remodelling & recorating your home?

I have a BV7 and a BC2 in my living room. They are not masterlinked, so I have some issues with the Beo4 not quite controlling the setup e.g. trying to turn the TV off also turns the BC2 off, I presume this is because they are not linked via masterlink. However I do not want to have to raggle the walls to conceal any masterlink wiring - a big no-no

With my BeoSound 4 I could use the Aux in to route streamed audio from my Mac & Sonos system to my speakers. How do I do this on the BeoMaster 5 which has no Aux in - do I need a beoport to connect to the BeoMaster by Masterlink?

Considering a BS5 at the moment and wonder whether I should keep my current BS4 to link with it or just use the BS5. Any thoughts?
