j0hnbarker: beo4life: Dire Straits - Money for Nothing Played on the beolab 5000's on dads timberframed walls. It made one guy offer us £1400 for the speakers, which we turned down. Great track! Got to be the album version with the extended intro though :) People wet themselves when Sting stops singing and the drums and guitar kick in!

I think so. I fitted a mx8000 back to a mx7000 by removing a couple of strengthening lugs that got in the way. So i guess it should the other way around. Brett

I never got any money back, but that deck

I can quite see why you would wish to change a tube if you live in a country where second hand avants are rare or expensive. However, in the UK they are a dime a dozen and you can buy a fully working avant for £200 with a beo4 on ebay. Other than the satisfaction of fitting it yourself, why would you do it?

The guts are the same as the 7000, except it doesn't have the RIAA. You need a 3500,4500,6500 or 7000 if you want an RIAA built in. 3000,3300,5005,5500,8000,8500 & 9500 & TX2 dont have an RIAA fitted.
