  • Re: B&O News

I want tighter integration with iTunes without the need for separate media server software. And support for Apple lossless. Then the BS5 Encore begins to look more attractive. When I visited my dealer on Monday and we were chatting about the lack of use the CDs get on my BS9000 get these days, I described my Airport Express setup through the AUX port

  • Sloppy proof-reading and a lack of attention to detail

I ventured into my dealer for the first time in, ooh, about five years yesterday. I bought a new Earset 3i which I'm very pleased with, having been crying out for a B&O earset with a volume control for some time. I took the opportunity to pick up the latest catalogue. I'd forgotten the guilty pleasure of leafing through the glossy pages

  • Re: Earset 3i : placebo effect?

I got a pair today and they're definitely a bit bassier than even my Earset 3, which in turn were bassier than my rather ancient A8s. Very happy!

A quick question moxxey - does the Earset 3i have that annoying 'round the back of the neck' arrangement for the wires (as on the earset 3) or do they just hang down equally from each ear? Thanks

I don't know but I would have though that the microphone hole is in the same place as on other iPhone headsets - on the other side of the remote unit

Good to hear that the cables have indeed been changed. I wonder why B&O told me that they were the same as the Earset 3? Still, I'm not complaining.

  • Re: Earset 3i : placebo effect?

Certainly my Earset 3 had better bass than my A8s so I don't think it's a placebo. Unfortunately though, I emailed B&O to ask if the 3i has better cable material that doesn't turn brittle and stiff after a few months. Sadly, they said the cables were made from the same stuff.

  • Re: Beosound 5 Encore is here...

The user getting a phone call/calendar reminder/text doesn't stop the music from playing so it's not really an interruption. Furthermore, the improved notification system in the soon-to-be-released iOS5 wouldn't even stop the user from browsing and listening to their music if they recieved an alert of any kind. Having said that, I have a

So if I install Twonky on my iMac, what does the Encore 'see' and display on its screen? Will it display all the album art? Also, does the Encore (or original Beosound 5 for that matter) have the facility to set up wake up and sleep alarms?
