Poor Maab. He buys a pair of nice speakers, looks forward to using them, doesn't want to do anything wrong in setting them up, and gets hit by an avalanche of derision by KOS, starting from post nr. 1 from him. Congratulations with your new speakers, Maab. Hope you're enjoying them.
Yes, I am enjoying

  • Re: BL5, digital to analog on the fly
Are you saying that because iTunes keeps playing you are getting cross-talk when you switch to the TV mode ? If you wanted a permanent solution I would recommend you look at a masterlink connected BeoPort combined with LinkPlayer software on the Mac. But that is an investment that you might not want for an experiment

  • BL5, digital to analog on the fly

Hello, While I am still searching for my ideal devices to stream music via spdif, I have temporarily connected the iMac (via toslink/rca) which is situated in a different room. The problem is that when I am done and stop playing music and want to switch back to tv audio (analog connection) I have to go into the other room and "quit" iTunes

  • Re: Where are B&O products made at?
I have been under the impression that Beolab 5s are made in DK. Is that no longer the case?
The box of my BL5 i recently received (in USA) states that where shipped from DK but the country of origin is Czech Republic.
OK why is this 'sneaky'? Did you mean 'sneaky?'
make your own conclusions on that, please.
Since most-informed users of this forum agree that if you are buying 18000 euro speakers - way above the price (4000 Euros overpriced at least) they are available

Beyerische, Thanks for the reply. I sorted out the cable thing by calling customer service, and they confirmed that the cable in question is digital spdif as soundproof stated previousily. After a bit of struggle I got the speakers working. I now understand better B&O philosophy. It's not plug'n'play, but once done properly its working

Hello again Could you please tell me: is this an RCA cable for the line connection?
Hi Maab, Don't you have the user manual with the speakers? There is a picture showing which cables you need and how to connect them to your a/v system. Could you please show us the cables included

Hello again Could you please tell me: is this an RCA cable for the line connection?
No, that is most likely the end of one of your SPDIF-cables for a digital connection. You use it to daisy-chain your speakers - Source>Cable to Speaker A>Cable from Speaker A to Speaker
