After seeing the threads and posts about the elusive preset cover for BM 4400s, I decided to make my own version. As you will see, I took a few liberties from the original design. I used a cassette case as the donor. Here it is being cut to rough dimension with a razor saw. I used double sided tape to attach the rough cut cover to a flat piece of hardwood

Will someone with an original cover please post a few photos for us? I was mainly curious about dimensions, and if the tabs are squared like Geoff's wonderful cover, or if they are hooked as I imagined they might be. I'd really like to know what an original looks like. Thanks! Kevin
I see Kevin is missing the tuner preset cover, as is every 4400 I can remember seeing for sale on Ebay. I'm starting to think the part never existed!
Nah, I have the cover stored in an offshore secure mobile facility, and its location is changed so often even I don't have a clue where it is. It's that
Two different types of lamps are used; One is a wedge type (like the others), sitting in a plug-in socket at the side of the meter, the other is an axial type sitting built into the meter and a bit harded to access. Martin
Turns out my signal strength meter lamp was burnt out. The meter is more difficult to access

Here is the BG 4002 on the slide out shelf below the BG 4004. The stereo is set up in our family room (hence the Nintendo systems, DVD player etc.) but these pieces add a touch of style. The shelf is mainly a convenient place to store the 4002 since I can't have both turntables hooked up at the same time.

Well, I'm one of the absolute newbies on this forum. I am very inpressed with the knowledge of its members, but even more with the patience and relatively welcoming demeanor of everyone. Even in the short time I've been here, I've learned a tremendous amount about the vintage pieces (BM 4400, BG 4002 and BG 4004) that I own. I know that
Awesome Kevin! The finish of the wooden details look fabulous! Have you done that work yourself? I have an old Beogram 2200, where the white details have gone yellow and need to be replaced. Looking at pictures like this really makes me think of starting a renovation project.
The BM 4400 had a loose side panel

Well, I wasn't looking for another Beogram, especially after the recently acquired 4004. But this one sorta fell in my lap, and I couldn't resist. I brought it home from Portland yesterday and immediately started poking around. It has the typical stiff cueing lever syndrome from old lube. The "Start" button has a bit of wear, and the

Thanks! I completely missed it on the schematics. Looking at my meter assembly, it appears the lamp is built into the assembly. My ON light functions fine, so maybe the dial lamp is just dim. I'll check again. Cheers, Kevin
