Thanks. I hadn't noticed any sticking or clicks. However, I notice that when I push buttons the word 'Battery' appears as well. I wasn't sure if that was normal and I thought I was using relatively, fully-charged batteries(?) If that's not normal, that could be an issue as well, right?

Is there a way to reset a MCP to the factory defaults? I bought a Beosystem 5000 that came with a MCP 5000 while contemplating repairing my 6500. The 5000 doesn't work with the Beo 4 so it's good that it has a built-in panel. The MCP 5000 seems to have some settings from the prev owner. For instance, when I hit the Treble key, it turns off the

Thanks. That explains it. Is there a way to reset the MCP 5000? Strange things happen when I hit certain buttons. For example, the Tape player turns off when I hit the Lower Volume button! I'm trying to get my hands on a manual but can't find one.

I just got a old Beomaster 5000 to replace the 6500 until I get it fixed. I thought my Beo4 would just work with it but it doesn't have any effect. Is it compatible with the 5000? I can't find any info on it.

No! You were supposed to tell me to push a couple of buttons in a strange combination and ..Voila! it would work. :-) That sounds expensive to repair. It may be easier to replace it with another 6500. Thanks for all the good info., though. I kind of figured it was more than a simple 'fix'.

Well, now, no lights come on no matter what I do with the remote. Is it fried? Or a matter of the proper reset? Unplugging it does not reset it either.

ahh. I hadn't thought of the radio since I don't use it. When I press the panels, nothing. The remote has no effect on it either.

I unplugged it and now it won't come on. I used it last night and this morning I noticed the LOCKED display with a list of the peripherals attached. I use a Beo 4 for my remote. I've never seen this before. Is this something in the Beomaster or did I hit a bad sequence of buttons inadvertantly on the remote? Thanks in advance for any assistance

Well, keying in the number doesn't help either. The numbers flash but I have yet to actually hear a station. Sometimes I hear what could be a station but it's like I'm not quite there even though the numbers are the exact station number. I had previously tried the left and right arrows and still nothing so far. Glenn
