I have recently jumped into playing vinyl and I am really enjoying the sound. I currently have 2 tables set up, a Beogram 8002 w/MMC1 and a Thorens TD 125mkII with OL Live Silver and Shelter 901 cart connected to my Beosound 9000 via a JLTI Phono stage. (BTW..the Beogram w mmc1 is bested slightly by the Thorens in most cases...except for ease of use

Thanks for the replys, and the cart offer! I have ruled out the mute switch in the deck, it is working properly. Looks like I will be buying a couple of cartridges to play with....and maybe sending the old one to be rebuilt, does anyone know the Axel site, do they speak English if I email them? Headed to Italy today, back in a week and will test with

Its connected to a Beosound 9000. The 4500 has a RIAA built in. I just put on an album......nothing but static with the Beosound turned up fairly loud.... let it play for the whole album then a loud static "pop" and its fine, music playing. The album ends, put on a new album and again.... static. The problem has happend several times over

I can hear the needle picking up the sound, but all I can hear when I turn my system up to 50-60 is static, then it will make a static pop and its playing again ( this rarely happens now). Could it be the built in preamp...or the muting switch? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks...

Im at the reccomended 1-1.2 (cant remember off the top of my head) grams for the mmc2 and can hear the needle in the grooves...but I will check! Thanks.

Hi, I recently aquired a Beogram 4500 and NOS MMC2 stylus and it has been sounding superb! But recently it has been cutting out, the player continues to operate in every function, but the sound stops. Its like it has a short circuit, the sound comes and goes. I hear a static like pop and the sound stops,. Leave it alone, move it, or turn it off for
