Update: turns out there was corrosion on one of the battery terminals - once scratched clean the unit functions as normal. Thanks Dillen - I didn't know about that option.

Dear all, My Dad has a Beomaster 3500, bought it back in 1998 as part of the Beosystem 3500 package. It's been well looked after and has performed faultlessly up until recently. It no longer receives any commands from the Beolink 1000. The batteries in the Beolink have been tested and swapped but still no commands are being acknowledged by the Beomaster
