Hi All Interested to hear that What Hi-Fi reviewed the BL8000 speakers in Jan 2003 issue. Has anyone got the transcript from their review - I have heard they partnered them with the BS9000 and gave it a glowing review. I've tried looking into the web archives etc but can't seem to find any historic reviews relating to their group test. Thanks

It is interesting that the bass response is lowered to 48hz instead of 52 for the older version, mk2. Question is, is this difference going to be spectacularly audible? I guess dealers aren't going to have both sets (BL8000 mk2 and BL8002)to switch between to audition.

Hi there; I've got a Beocenter 1 and have mated it with a Topfield PVR 5800 which can understand instructions from my Beo4 via the IR sensor or something, which attaches over the remote receiver on the Topfield box. The Topfield has 250GB hard disc drive too. It's great! REALLY user friendly. Highly recommended chum. You need an appropriate

Dear chums Wondering whether anyone has got original BC1 manuals using the Beo4 that I can grab/buy etc as the one I've got just goes on about the beo 1 which the earlier ones came with. I have got a PDF version for BC1 using Beo4 but I'm a fussy bas*ard and want an original......That's just me.... Kind regards Jonathan

Hi Opman It ckicks when DVD firing up too for only 10-15 secs or so. I think I might get another extension cable as then I removed and replaced the plug for the Topfield, it made the extension cable red light flicker about and make a rather wier buzzing noise! Fingers crossed.

Dear chums Advice please! Got a Beocenter 1 with dolby module and when turned on via the sat button on Beo4 (it is fed by a Topfield freeview receiver) I get a series of rapid clicks coming from the loudspeakers for about 10-15 seconds. Then it passes. It's not the end of the world but it takes away the delight of turning the unit on! Anyone got

A very good point re- using mp3 files to power expensive loudspeakers. I am shocked and deeply embarrased that I didn't think of that as I am always preaching GIGO (garbage in and garbage out!) I'm going to explore both your ideas of beoport and also a separate source with passive speakers powered by my old faithful chum a Detoma power amp.

Thanks Peter. I wonder if I can connect my BS6 to BL6000 with the same cable that is well documented for use with connecting to BL3 or BL4. Any comments re- suitablility of BL6000 in the bedroom for low volume music? Was shocked to hear someone regarded them as car speakers in a drain pipe. I remember walking past a pair in operation at my local dealer

Absolutely agree- the beauty with the Detoma power amp is that it simply accepts one powerlink input. Therefore suited to powering one pair of passives, which the original question concerned (one pair of Bose). I had TERRIBLE trouble with an MCL2P I tried - horrendous pop as it was activated via powerlink. Yuk.

Hi - The Detoma cost me about £300 or so a few years ago, so around that ballpark. I got it from my great chum Ian from MorethanAV. I don't know if he still stocks them or not. But you can buy it direct from the UK distributor - lauben.co.uk. As I say it's got powerlink input and can power a single pair of speakers. I put the powerlink
