Not sure if other B&O tangential decks are the same as the 8002 with respect to their being a slider on the tonearm to adjust tracking force, but I'm wondering if there's anything you can/should do to verify that it's set correctly, i.e. like letting a pivoting tonearm float and then zeroing it out before setting the grams of force.

The only turntable I have to compare it to is a Beogram 1800 using a rebuilt MMC2 (Axel). Even using an original MMC3 of unknown condition, the 8002 sounds significantly better, especially on vocals.

That did it, Jacques! Thank you! Ah, now it sounds wonderful.

So today I bought a 5-pin female to RCA male adapter (from a B&O store) for the B&O 7-pin to 7-pin cable that came with my 8002. I unscrewed the two extra pins from one end of the 7-pin cable, attached it to the 5-pin female end of the adapter, and then plugged the RCAs into my phono stage. I also screwed down the ground wire that's part

Thanks, though I'd like to make my own or have a cable company I've used before make me a custom cable, which is why I need to know what the pin assignments are.

Well, I went ahead and bought an 8002 off of ebay! It arrived the other day, and so far so good: Cosmetically, it's a 9 out of 10, and everything powers up fine. Only catch is that I still haven't listened to it because I don't have a 7-pin to RCA cable. I'd like to either make one myself or have someone do it for me. Is there a diagram

I'd definitely consider a 6002, but I see those almost as rarely as I see 8002s! What would be people's next picks after the 8002 and 6002? Again, this is for MMC carts. Adam, I'm in the U.S. Might be too far to safely ship a turntable?
-
So I have a MMC2 that I'd love to pair with a nice tangential table, however, 8002s are scarce and expensive. What would be next in the pecking order in terms of sound quality and durability?
-
So the distortion didn't disappear until I pushed the tracking force up to 1.6 g for my MMC2. There's still some inner groove distortion in the last song on each side, but that's to be expected.

By tracking force weight, do you mean use a stylus force gauge, such as the digital type? If so, can anyone recommend a brand they like?
