Valid point - Foster and Fostex are essentially the same company and confirmed suppliers of B&O's drivers...that's a good thing! Although it will require some digging, I believe I'm onto something! I'll be measuring the exact thiele-small over the next few days though
-
Gents, I have it. In my typical undying relentlessness to find the answer...I called Denmark. Useless. I then called SEAS in the US - apparently a manufacturer of B&Os drivers. Turned out the gent on the phone worked previously for B&O , and knew exactly what I was after...a company called Foster Electric. So, the only three people on the planet

:D http://www.decware.com/newsite/refoam.htm Seems a really good way (shimming the VC so it doesn't move!) I'll publish the T/S when I've measured them
-
Japanese or otherwise...they have Thiele-Small parameters...and I want them!! :D Worst case, I'll be measuring them when I refoam
-
The CX itself, a Beotalk and the back of some sort of BeoSystem? I've dropped a mail to B&O, standing by if they can make some further light on the subject
-
i wonder what drivers they are? Surely someone in Denmark will have records... Peerless, Seas etc have been well regarded in the homebrew world since granny fell off the bus.

As advised, I've started a thread here in the workbench section... As it stands, I have 4x CX100 drivers and a set of Visaton tweeters. What I plan to do is cook up a set of speakers based on the CX100s, but with differences made to the crossovers/enclosure design. If anyone has the Thiele-Small parameters of the drivers used in the CX100s I'd

Well, chaps, thanks for making me feel so welcome! It's nice to not have a snooty forum as so many are :(! I also feel a 'super dooper CX' thread coming on. Even if the enclosures aren't B&O, and the tweeters are Visaton...it'll be interesting! I saw (thanks Overture!!) that the drivers have certain Vas (airspace) requirements
-
Absolutely, I'll be looking for chassis with dud drivers. Anyone know the internals of the CX100, ie. what they look like? one sealed enclosure? Wouldn't worry about x-overs, I'm just about to sit my finals in Electronics Engineering...will cook up something in the coming weeks :D L

Hi, Liam from Ireland here, just popping in to introduce myself. I've come into posession of 4x Beovox CX100 drivers, but just the drivers themselves...no enclosure. I'm curious - I presume the enclosure itself isn't available as a spare part?! No matter how much scouring of the internet...nothing has turned up anything usable! Regards,
