  • Re: Beovox2500 tweeters

Hey Leslie, I would definitely keep them, just in case they are repairable, and you want the satisfaction of knowing they are completely stock. That being said, they look pretty haggard, with the diaphragms being torn and such. I bet it would be super easy to find a modern cone tweeter that fit and had fairly equivalent sound characteristics. All the

  • Re: Trade brandnew combo BL8002/BL2 for BL9 ?

I think it will be hard for the Beolab 8000/2 to EVER look outdated. Definitely a matter of personal taste I guess. I'll venture to say that the BL8000/2 will age far better than the love-it or hate-it looks of the robot speakers...I mean ALT-type speakers! ;) Jon [quote user="Dave"] [quote user="bayerische"] Style wise no, sound

Well, like I said, you're going to have to play with things to get them fine-tuned. I can't see the rest of your room, but the subwoofer might be placed in a non-optimal location. The closer to square your room is, the more peaks and dips in the response it will have. I'm not too familiar with the Beolab 2 - I don't know whether it has

P.S. - If you follow my advice, do your listening at high volumes. Set up at low volumes, there is always the tendency to turn the sub level up too high, and then it sounds boomy and sloppy when listening at higher volumes. Jon

Where do you have the BL2 positioned in your room? Can you play with the placement? If it's in a corner, it will be effectively radiating into 1/2 Pi space, which means alot of boundary reinforcement and lumpy frequency response higher up in the potential passband of the subwoofer. I find most people crossover their sub at way too high of a frequency

  • Re: Kalle Hvidt Nielsen is out. Replacing him as President and CEO is Tue Mantoni

Poor guy. Being outside of the whole thing, there's obviously alot more to the story that none of us know... That being said, Mr. Nielsen looks quite sad to be going. His facial expressions and overall demeanor give me the impression that he was one of a very few people who really cared about the company he worked for, and put some wholehearted

  • Re: BeoSound 1 &3200 are no more.

[quote user="valve1"] The end of days for the 9000s is upon us and I am sure the dealers will only be delighted to get rid of their demo white models to any one who can remember what a cd is . You will be doing them a favour. I am going to get rid of my beosound 4 (which i never liked) and get another 9000 for my place in France. [quote user

[quote user="TripEnglish"] My BeoSound 5 has rekindled my home listening as well, which had dwindled to just about zero except for a few radio programs on the weekends. Despite having a BeoSound 9000...connected and installed and a few other current systems sitting around or in storage, I haven't even swapped discs out of them since I

  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

It's a nice, cold, rainy night; 2:18 am here. I woke up and can't sleep, so I turned up the heat, I'm having a nice glass of Opolo 2007 Mountain Zin, and quietly listening to "Time Out" in the dark on my beautiful, old Beosystem 8000. Such a lovely sound it makes - relaxed but powerful, both at once. Jon

  • Re: Why do people put down B&O sound

*Sigh*, this is the problem with internet discussions - you tell yourself you're not going to argue anymore, and then the other person says something to draw you back in. I can accept what you're saying about me; I don't know anything, I'm the uneducated one, blah, blah, blah, whatever. Honestly, it's not an ego thing here. But,
