TWG This seems a CEO fault as he seems to act only for the shareholders and NOT for the company. Now the Beolab 5 cost them 1000 Euro to manufacture and they sell them for 17.000 here in Germany. Good point made earlier on home cinema systems they can sound fab for quite a reasonable price what set ups do members have eg 5.1, 3.1 or 2ch stereo anyone have beolab 5 or 9 in 2 channel stereo

I was of the opinion beolab 9 was the best value in the range compares very well with rivals systems that cost twice the price whe allowing for power amplifier and interconnects

I would have to agree on chrisreunion comment about big corporations always getting good reviews in hifi magazines which to me seem biased I do like gramaphone reviews and hifi world these seem unbiased and did review some vintage equipment last month I would like to see a giant test between meridian and beolab 5 and other active speakers like A.C.T

Is the sound better on an external bluray player or inbuilt player in theory there should not be any difference has anyone experimented with an external amplifier to see what benefit you would get with hd audio
