Leslie, There are a couple of switches that are actuated by the sequence wheel under the CD drive. They often oxidate, especially if not used for a long time, and they will need cleaning. I like to take it apart and clean the discrete parts ultrasonically but the "kitchen table"-way is to soak a piece of paper in contact cleaner, insert it

Hi Rob, One broken lamp will not be the reason for the humming. If you can handle a standard electronic type soldering iron and can tell the positive lead of a capacitor from the negative, you can do the recap. Alternatively, your Beomaster is welcome here for repairs (I'm also in Denmark). You have a PM regarding kits (check your inbox at the extreme

Samuk, Probably the common laser circuit fault. A fault that leads many repairers to believe that the laser itself has died and the player left irrepairable where the truth in most cases is that the laser simply doesn't get enough electric current to function correctly. Not enough current = not enough light. Not enough light = not enough reflection

Hi Rob, Welcome to Beoworld ! First check that the mains voltage setting (at the bottom of the Beomaster) is correct for your area. Some Beomaster 1900's are prone to hum a bit if the supplied mains voltage is a bit on the low side. If f.e. you live in a 230V area and the Beomaster is set for 240V - if it hums set it to 220V. It will not be damaged

Hi R, The Beocenter 7000 is a complete system with record player, cassettedeck, tuner and amplifier in very high build - and sound quality, even compared to most modern systems. The RL45.2 speakers will be fine for this system. Actually, the Beocenter 7000 will drive even very large speakers with ease and that would sound even better. Martin

Beovox S45-2 does not have overload fuses. The popping overload fuses were introduced with the revised Uniphase models so yours will have to be the Beovox S45 type 6427. Or Beovox S50/S55/S80, I don't remember if the smaller models had the fuses at all. Martin

It's correct that the main difference is that Beovox S45.2 has a flat wooden backside but it also has a different tweeter from the S45. Actually, the tweeter seems to have been changed at some point during production of the S45 since I've seen S45 with both types of tweeters, requiring a completely different casting of the composite baffle board

Frede, No rush. It's just always exciting when something like this turns up. I would think that a decoder like the one mounted in my Grand Prix 609 would be the one to fit. The Dirigent 610K service manual mentions a complete MPX module as part number 900 H 198 I have checked this up against the one in the Grand Prix but that one only has the number
