I totally agree, Keith. Flashback's cables seem designed with this in mind. My previous cables were thin, and I had an unnecessary connection from RCA to RCA-DIN converting cable. Very flimsy connectors at the RCA ends and ditto at the DIN plug. As you say, adding to the impedance. The new cables are thick, the connections are solid and stick to

OK. I remain among the world's great cable skeptics. But I'm also pleased that I just got a set of cables from Flashback Sales for my B&O classic amps. I'm using them between the DACs and the AUX-IN on a Beomaster 7000 and Beolab 5000. Excellent and fast service by Dave at Flashback (who should advertise here). He supplies Quad and NAIM

Very difficult question to answer. You would have to go to some lengths to eliminate source independent differences first. You're already using the same speaker setup with both, so that goes some way. (I'm assuming that you are - if you are listening to two different setups in a store, then you can't compare. The speakers should be the same

Alex is right here. The source is evident, the dispersion just a benefit, in that the lens spreads a comparably equal weight of sound wider than will a regular loudspeaker driver. This means that it's not just the person in the sweet spot who gets the best sound - it's also possible to get a good soundstage seated in other positions, when receiving

Alex: My dad's just switched to Mac as well, and is looking at moving his business across to a Mac network! He loves his MacBook, and was amazed when I showed him how you just plug in a printer and click print! Bill Gates is just as amazed!

If I could only convince my father to go Mac. He worries that no one will be around to help him with troubles, and I keep telling him there won't be any that I can't fix over the phone with him. He went Windows PC because that's what all his acquaintances have - and he's had scores of issues ever since; including sending his workstation

brendon: Thanks everyone for your advice. So I guess I'll look for a pair of older BL4000's without ICE. Thanks I think you should hear the new ones, with ICE, before deciding against them. Maybe your dealer can arrange a with and without listening session for you. Someone in this thread did mention a possible problem with them together with

Morgan: BL9 plus BL4000s would get my vote. There's a purity of tone in the upper register of the BL4000s that I believe goes very well with the ditto from the BL9s. Sorry but I don´t understand "ditto", but I got the general idea. Just that the BL9s are similarly clear and bright in the upper register, so you get a good match. If

Salling Clicker does fast scrolls on Macs. Wish there was a way to control B&O equipment with the Clicker!

Morgan: What do you think about mix BL9 as front and BL4000 as rear? To a certain extent it depends upon the kind of music you listen to. If it's predominantly acoustic/vocal (no electronics and effects), then BL9+BL4000s is perfect. If you like music that goes THUMP! in the night then you want heavyweights all around. (I know of one person who
