legend: I feel that willingness to tolerate current B&O pricing varies depending not only on your previous experiences with the brand but also your current or past level of ownership of B&O. Also, don't forget the rise of the Internet. A few years ago, you'd have never known the BV4 was a framed Panasonic or the BV9 was a re-boxed Panasonic

355f: The Armanai shirt analogy is an interesting one, the issue here is that versace, canali, zegna, pal zileri ,paul smith all charge the same or more for a shirt so Armani is not 'out of sector on pricing and the quality of materials and fit is as good if not better than most brand Correct, but most men do not know that. Buy an Armani shirt,

RussR: A Rolex Daytona has been mentioned here, I keep mentioning cars, but someone else mentioned the BMW M3 already. What did they cost then? What about now? When I was in Graduate school a Rolex Daytona could be had for $1,500USD. Who cares what they cost or whether you (or I) can afford them! People buy them and still buy them. If Rolex charge £5500

TripEnglish: After a few threads where things got a bit heated, I got to thinking about the dilemma posed here, that while Bang & Olufsen has always been an expensive brand, recently they have become too expensive... Items are only 'too expensive' when people stop buying them. On one hand we have AU board members saying that B&O AU are

Flappo The Grate: they concentrate too much on the 'look' and not enough on how stupid you 'feel' when you've blown all your dough on something that's outdated as soon as you take it home One person's strong opinion obviously isn't changing the way B&O are selling products in AU. As I said above, only a few days ago

AUD 30K is around £14K or more here, far too expensive for me. However, it's supply and demand guys. If people are prepared to keep buying, B&O will be able to raise the prices. Indeed, for some people, these price increases just make the products seem more 'exclusive' to some. It's same with watches. Panerai watches receive

Flappo The Grate: bno bath have sold up ?? The store is still there (also with refreshed products on display), but the franchise owner sold up and B&O UK now own the store. I met someone from the B&O UK HQ the other day (in-store) and they said that B&O UK have bought 10 UK stores during 2008, so far. That's a lot of capital outlay when

  • Re: B&O TV Why?

I'd suggest we move on - these discussions come up every few weeks and the same people vent the same opinion. We've heard these opinions so many times I've become disillusioned with the forum, never mind B&O.

  • Re: can b&o survive??!

Yes, but the odd thing Peter is that the Bath store is/was in the top five most profitable UK B&O stores - so makes little sense for B&O UK to takeover due to either a) improve customer experience (as the customer experience was superb!) or improve profitability (as it was one of the most profitable). The only thing I can think of is that B&O

I was told by someone at B&O UK the other day that they are busy closing a few UK stores and taking over others. They've taken over 10, so far, including the Bath store. All very bizarre - one moment I'm in there talking the owners as normal, two weeks later they've been bought out by B&O UK HQ, with no explanation! Anyone know what's
