Acording to the user manual the Beomaster 5000 does have a dedicated connection for the relay. Craig

Ben, I believe the only two products it would work with were the Beocenter 9000 and the Beomaster 5000. For using it with other products you needed a special lead which conected to the Powerlink sockets. Craig

My BV3-32 which is a 2004 model has Masterlink fitted. As previously said i think it was the 28" where it was a additional modual. One of the reasons the 28" version was not so popular as the 32" was that by the time you had brought all the extras there was little difference in price. Craig

Firstly welcome to Beoworld, What B&O sytem do you currently have? As several B&O systems were able to support a Beolink (multi room) setup. If you want the convienience of having all your music on a Hard Drive then the easiest way is to just run a lead from the soundcard of your PC. Craig
