  • Re: Apologies for not being able to post today

[quote user="9 LEE"] Graham, whilst i appreciate your frustration i don't think the downtime is actually all that bad! I'm not going to roll out the old chestnut of 'it's miles better than the 'old' BeoWorld' but please realise we're not rolling in cash and we try to simply rent the space we think we'll

  • Re: How to, cassette to pc.

You're all set then Sandy, all you need is a suitable cable and the software. I would probably use the 6500 (definitely if your recording happens to use Dolby C). You will need a 5-pin DIN to 3.5 mm stereo plug adapter. Note that a generic "iPod to B&O" cable with those connectors will not work, as it is connected to the input pins

  • Re: BeoVision ME6000 not showing full image.

Right section I guess, but I'm afraid there's not much knowledge about that particular model around. It is actually a Philips chassis in B&O clothes and we don't even have the service manual here on site... Do you have any analogue transmissions over the air/cable left, so that you could compare and double check that the problem is indeed

  • Re: Aviva PLC acquires 10% of voting shares?

They need to post these announcements whenever the ownership shares change (either rise or drop) over certain limits. According to the last full year financial report, Aviva plc already had more than 8% ownership in B&O last May and was the second largest single owner. Would be interesting to know who sold the difference though, if it came from

  • Re: Low Volume - Beogram 5500 Turntable to Beosound 3200

Well, the components for a typical Beogram internal RIAA cost at most 20 euros at the corner shop and the one from, say, Beomaster 5500 would be even cheaper, so why not build a replica if that's the problem... (In all truth, it isn't that trivial as following the schematic from the service manual - there are plenty of ways to construct it wrong

  • Re: BM 3000-2 Speaker pop on powerup

In my experience all B&O amps without a muting relay circuit do that, more or less. Never had the chance to hear these new to have any idea of what the "correct" amount of pop might be, but I guess it can't be completely avoided in the AC coupled amplifiers. For the DC coupled designs, it might get worse when the components age and

  • Re: Beosystem 5000 Repairs

Agreed, and the Beomaster even has RCA connectors, so using a "foreign" CD will be easy without needing any adapters (you'll need to use the Tape2 RCA connectors instead of proper AUX/CD though, as that only has a DIN connector). Every unit is most probably repairable, but if the CD has mechanical damage that needs spare parts, you'd

  • Re: Beosystem 5500 - Good Value?

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. When you have questions, it is usually better to start a new topic instead of continuing a very aged one like this - those easily get lost in the traffic. As to your question, do you have the two links inserted in the line in/out sockets in the rear panel of the Beomaster? Do you have headphones you could try to see if

  • Re: Datalink Wiring

According to this old thread you should be able to get this to work with an Ouverture. Although I still don't know 100% sure which pin you should connect Won't break anything by just trying, though...
