1.) Well, I suppose you could argue that the more recent -2 would be better, but I don't believe that the revs would make any "real" difference. Consider them identical as far as performance. 2.) I can't say enough good things about the early S45 (single frets)! P45's would be a neat alternative.

Exactly what Peter said! If price is a factor, I will go to my grave with a pair of early S45 or -2's (not the later double fret).
