Welcome to Beoworld ! Typical symptom of dead idle current trimmers. They lose contact and the idle current gets too high. Normally not an expensive repair. I've done many. New trimmers, soldering, adjustment, basic electronic skills and a minimum of instrumentation is needed. Do one channel at a time, beginning with the one with the highest idle

Yes, they are B&O specific. And very much so, I'm afraid. BTW; There are two, very different, types of Beolit 600. Antennas are different too so it may help if you clarify which model you have. Martin

Maybe one or two of the readers wonder about the technical side of things (I would): The two speaker outputs from the Grand Prix is fed directly to the speakers as it would normally be, but also to the echo unit where it drives the Hammond element's transducer or "sender" coil. The sender coil introduces longitudinal vibrations to the

Probably a capacitor fault. That's very common. Either on the tuner board itself, in the premplifiers or in the power supply areas. Ripple voltages from the power supply will fairly easily get into the sensitive tuner circuits. Could also be a rectifier fault but that is rarer. Martin

Not only is the position of the lamps filament with regards to the lens system and the amount of light output important. The type of light also needs to be right since the sensor is neither a photocell, LDR nor photo-transistor but rather a voltaic cell. A LED will not output enough energy to activate the system (at least they did not about five years

Well done, Chris ! Martin

Som den er, er den ikke meget værd men de fleste ville nok sende den på værksted og få et tilbud på en reparation. Det lyder ikke som noget særligt dyrt. Hvis du bor i nærheden af København, kan jeg måske se på den. Martin

You're welcome. I have lived all my life in Denmark, collected B&O audio products since the mid-70's and I never visited Struer... Maybe some day. Martin

Oh. Sounds like replacement speakers will be the only way. I am not sure if I have a speaker or maybe two but I will have a look. The photo is fine. 125uF and 4uF are no longer standard values. Using 100uF instead of 125uF is acceptable. However, I think I would have mounted 4,7uF instead of 2,2uF when replacing a 4uF. Having said that, the BM900 is

Chris, Little imperfections to the paper cone can be fixed using a cut piece of tea-bag paper and speaker cement. However, when the hole is at the flexible "accordion" part, like this, it may not be the best fix. If you can lay your hands on a flexible contact glue (or latex or similar), you can close the hole by dragging a layer or two of
