Last summer I bought a Beosystem/Beomaster 7000 with the three other units being in the 6500 family. This summer I came across a seller with a Beomaster 6500, and thought I should make a set with units of one model -- freeing the 7000 to serve as a stand-alone amplifier for my computer. Some may also remember that when I got my Beolab 5000 from Classic

Congrats! I had definite déjà vu from "old" BeoWorld ... Nice to read the site is growing at such a clip!

Without consciously being aware of why, most people will place their TVs at a distance that accommodates the area of the retina that is most receptive to information. As I have understood it, in children this central, highly perceptive area develops. And children therefore use more of the retinal surface to perceive. This is also why children are fond

mattyd: If you where TRUE B&O fans, you would realise that its not just picture and sound quality (even though the BeoVision 9 beats any plasma panel out there for picture, build quality, and shear magical delight) but its how different an approach Bang & Olufsen takes on everything they do. This is probably a tough place to be telling people

Peter: Because until recently, Panasonic made the best screens. They are still very highly rated. Actually it is the LCD panels I have the most problem with and this is common to all the brands, I agree with Peter. Though Pioneer seems to have an upper hand, the differences in high-quality plasma between brands aren't that telling. And LCD has made

Hi Pushkin, I think your reaction is perfectly legitimate, and it is also the kind of reaction that a top-end manufacturer (of any kind of product) must listen to. I dropped away from the B&O brand in the late 90s and am coming back now. But I am also very critical of what I would buy from the range. One simply has to recognize that there are lots

Peter: Well if I am being critical of the 6000 quad (I do have one, so I do like it!), it would be because: 1. The components are not remote control, only the receiver. A friend has told me that it is possible to get a BG4004 working with a 6000 but it does require a bit of work! 2. No quad cassette deck. 3. The power amplifier is just not as good as

Peter: Design, yes. Sound quality - less so. It is in essence a double Beomaster 901 - though obviously beefed up a bit. The 3400 sounds better. You speaking of the Quad here, Peter? For me it's the looks/function of these complete sets - though I have to watch it so I don't turn my house into a B&O museum...
-
Totally agree with the Quad. There was one for sale in Sweden last year, with remote and in perfect order ...

9 LEE: Well... there are 'my essentials' and 'THE essentials' from a purists point of view.. My essentials are my all time favourites, and what i consider to be icons of my time in B&O. They are.. BeoCenter 9500 (beautiful, magical, powerful - and my favourite ever piece of B&O) Hmmm - I have a chance to buy a Beocenter 9500
