  • Re: Opening up a Beomaster 8000 (with pictures too!)

Hi Rick and a warm welcome to Beoworld. An excellent first post and most welcome it is too, I am sure this will be of great use to many owners of these excellent vintage Beomasters. I have edited your post slightly by inserting a direct link to the site with this info - hope you don't mind. What is the problem with your BG8000? I'm sure we can

soundproof: Put the BL2 where you usually sit and listen, watch. Really. Put it in your couch, for instance, or in your listening chair. But at the height of your head. Then move around in front of it, close to where you were thinking of placing it, until you find where the bass sounds the best. Here your head has to be down on the floor, at the height

  • Re: RL 140s - any good?

Superb sounding speakers John but they really do take up a lot of space. You say this isn't an issue but they do take up a huge ammount of room whether you wall or floor mount them - providing you can find a wall substantial enough to mount the beasts on! Refoaming these aren't as straight forward as some speakers as the tolerances on the coils

  • Re: Avant service price.

It's a difficult one to answer beaker as there seem to be huge price variations from dealer to dealer. It also depends on whether they do their own work in-house or farm out to another service/repair centre (as my dealer does). An example is my own dealer who wouldn't give me a price for some work I enquired about and wanted me to leave a signed

  • Re: 9500 enquiry

The economy of the repair depends on how much you pay for it in the end I suppose and whether you tackle it yourself.. It is most likely that the drawers are either stuck or that the cords have come off of the pulleys. Not an easy task by all accounts to restring these but new parts are available as they are the same as for the BC9300. If the problem
