• Re: Beomaster 900K mutes itself
The BM4400 does not have AF transistors so is not prone to this type of failure. It will have to be something else. A cracked solder joint, a heavy tuning drift outside of the AFC reach or some muting fault.
ARGH! Sorry for the red herring Mika! ...and I was all fired up to go tap-tap tonight! I guess at this point

  • Re: Help sanding and polishing turntable lid

Austin, Nice to see you back! You went dormant for a while! All good advice here, so just my .02 cents! I just (about 2 weeks ago) finished a way too long similar project on a CDX. Now, mind you, the plexi panel on the CDX is maybe a 1/4 of the size of BG lid, if that, but man, what a struggle! I too just couldn't make satifactory leaps using all
oh i will join that then i like a good old gossip thread.
Seanie, I hope to see you on Wednesday then... it is quite fun! Just remember: drink, type, and never-ever mention B&o! Oh, and be prepared to be renamed: Seenie or Saanie, or something similar!

Hi Mika/Martin, I have exactly the same thing that happened to an immaculate BM4000. Turn it on, tune a station -perfect, then after a while... click, nothing! Reboot, try again, plays fine for a while then... click again. I never got in to look around, but was leaning towards the IF FM tuning. I would be very interested to hear how you get along with

First, in response to Frede: It is w/ great pleasure that I can add to your records! I have absolutely fallen in love w/ my BL-BM system... it is beyond description! To my previous post...
The only potentially major issue seems to be a slight bit of L/R imbalance... R seems a tad weak.
What a system! I am either

  • Re: your next B&O buy?

Actually, in the last year, I have sold more than I have bought! I am seriously considering clearing house and just keeping a few core collectible pieces. As far as the forecast for purchases: I need a set of SIL/SIL BL4000, and would like to find either BV3000 or 5000 and a pair of 2500 cubes!
Surely that can't be right? Is it unreadable in the dark? If so count me out
I agree 100% -that would truly be absurd! Personally, I was trying to place the unit in my bedroom, and was thinking I'd wall mount it upside down above the headboard, so I could just open my eyes and read it! This may kill it

I think he already has his own CD player and turntable.
...then he needs the 6000. No more costly to fix than a 5000 if you know the right people, though I accept that the 6000 is more likely to go wrong in the first place!
Well, if that is the case, then I agree

  • Re: Need Help with a buying decision...Beomaster 5000 or Beomaster 6000

Well, all good points by everybody. Tough call. If you will indeed be playing CD's and vinyl, I think I would lean towards the 5000, an excellent amp/receiver! They are readily available, often as complete sets w/ MCP's or terminals. The CD50 is a very good CD player, and the radial BG5000 is a very good table. The 6000 could use a CDX or CDX
welcome to the club... ;-)
Thanks! It was a long and winding road, having failed miserably on a pair about 9 months ago! Finally found a set and probably paid too much, but I at least have my hands on them!
did you find some beovox 2500/3000/5000?
Not yet, they seem
