As a general rule, never use LOUDNESS, it distorts the sound. However - its function as used by B&O makes sense. From their explanation: The loudness function is used to compensate for the human ear's lack of sensitivity to high and low frequencies when you are playing at low volume levels. The market was waiting for a phone, a phone is what it got. And there are quite a few users who are very happy with theirs. I'm personally pleased that those of us living in Europe will be getting the next iteration. Incredible that the dealers can't get this right. The bass in BL1 is pitiful compared to BL9.

Yes. It's simple to work around not having MUTE, but also quite nice to be able to quickly dampen the sound when desired. I'll give it a look.

Oasis: With the talk of release of BV7 in 1080p...how much would it cost to upgrade the panel of BV9 (non full HD) to that in full 1080p HD? And is it worth it? I would spend the money on an excellent projector and screen - where one really needs Full HD. Having that on a 50" screen is of marginal benefit.
