I did say, very early on before we got first sight of the BS/BM5, that I thought the BM5, as a stand alone audio/media server, should have used a raid 1 array HD system. As such your data is mirrored on an identical drive and so single hard drive failures can be tolerated. As has been mentioned storage is cheap and would go unnoticed in £3500

wonderfulelectric: Puncher: wonderfulelectric: beoberlin: Alex: think of a product to compliment the BeoLab 5 (hence the '5' moniker) Afaik this is not true for the product now released. Their were several incarnations of the bs5 while developing it. Hence the long time til finishing the project. The first one(s) being true high-end systems

Let's hope it's not a first date - it's an awful long time to think through all the things to say/do and not to say/do

Jandyt: I'm going on a date! Way-Hayy !!! Are you sure she understood the question?? She's obviously not an avid reader of the forum or else she would know that you are a compulsive sock-weigher and give you a very wide berth

Alex: Don't go by specs - they mean very little. The BeoSound 5 isn't just a computer with a shiny controller... You're right - the BS5 is just the shiny controller

Hi Laurence, It seems the device you've highlighted is built to do exaclty what you need although I would still see it as a workaround rather than an ideal solution. At that price I would buy and try - if you're happy with the results then carry on

Peter : You can always get a nib ground! I have a Parker 51 with a broad italic nib. Gorgeous! I take it you write left handed? I always thought that the characteristic of a "leftie" nib was that it was more "ball-shaped" at the end to prevent jarring in the papr as it is pushed rather than pulled cross the paper. I'm not sure

soundchoice70: Hi Jeff, Yes it does.... so does that mean I can connect directly to the RCA connections? No - because the BM6000 phono Din/RCA inputs have the RIAA amp/compensation built in. This means that the input level is very low (millivolts rather than volts) and the frequency response will be distorted by the RIAA equalisation.
