It's a nice offer for someone, but I don't really want a B&O hat. Walking around in that, I'd be laughing stock.

Maybe I'll sound niave, but is DTS-HD support essential? Audio from any Blu-ray disc is superb, often presented as uncompressed PCM or similar. In fact, it's so good on my BL9's, I've had to turn down the bass, turn off the subwoofer and so on. What does DTS-HD offer in additon to what's found on an existing Blu-ray disc?

Martin, you confuse me. You ask this question every few weeks and, every time, I always say that Beolab, The Stig or one of the others - all who are waiting for the update - will tell us! No need to keep asking. If you need to keep asking, just find the previous discussion and add a point to this, rather than another new thread on the subject ;) No

If only one of the above components was updated, I'd opt for a Blu-ray based BC2. Despite Alex saying it doesn't need updated, upscaling SD is NO WAY near as good as watching a Blu-ray DVD, particularly with the uncompressed audio. Yes, the BV7-40 and others do a good job upscaling, but the colours are not as deep, not as sharp etc etc. The

355f: You should apply for a job as the PR man for B&O You never know who you're talking to on this board.
-
bikerscotty: B&O will ignore the plight of the dealers as always, Ivory tower mentality! If you go in to the Bath store these days, there's regularly someone from B&O UK (and often Director level) in the store, making plans..
-
355f: There are not many dealers making money out of the B&O franchise . The notion that B&O as a company is 'buying up' the successful stores in the UK is of course a complete nonsense. A franchise doesn't need to 'buy' a franchisee out if they break the rules of their franchise. They simply give them notice. Once notice

beocraig: The notion that the likes of Liverpool, Bath and Worcester were "profitable and successful stores" is laughable.. Well, you've now lost all credibility. Bath was the 7th most successful B&O UK store. It wasn't taken over for financial reasons, it was something completely different (and I'm now allowed to say). Indeed

beocraig: Hi all, Director and shareholder of the store here. Some of you are thereabouts, most are utterly clueless, so here goes... Good luck with whatever you're doing next, Herbie. However, if the store was that profitable and successful, B&O would take it over (like they have with the Bath, Liverpool and Worcester stores, amongst others
