Trip, from what I understand our dealers download it from B&O - my dealer is here right now installing the sw update, which they downloaded from B&O HQ this morning.

I was told it will be out 'late this year', probably not long before Christmas. So, this side of Christmas at least.

Beolab: Finally !!!!! The first one who get this firmware can write he´s taught´s of the result in this thread i would be very pleased.. Beolab, my dealer is installing the new sw update on Monday afternoon, so I'll report back. Hope it fixes all the Playstation 3 white flash issues. No idea if watching a Blu-ray will be improved though

Thanks 355f, that puts things in to perspective. I can also see why people would hold off purchasing a new BS3 (£5K?), when their £270 Playstation 3 supports later standards. My understanding is that we won't be able to upgrade our existing BS3 as HDMI 1.3 is requierd for DTS-HD and that's a hardware upgrade? TripEnglish said it

A question for you all. The latest Rambo Blu-ray DVD *only* outputs audio as DTS-HD 7.1. My Playstation 3 supports output of DTS-HD. So, what's my BV7-40 MKIII decoding and playing back? I have a BL9, 7.4, BL2 combo and the sound is absolutely fantastic with this movie, so I'm unsure how this experience can be enhanced.

Razlaw: Is it really that difficult? The tv weighs 99 pounds? Correct? Is that with or without the stand? I think the quoted weight excludes the stand. Put it this way, I barely could lift the floor stand. It's got to be heavy, to accomodate the weight of the TV.
-
The purchaser should never have to set up a new BV7-40. Setting up the stand, configuring the channels and making sure all the cables are connected correctly, is a major feat. Although I could probably re-congfigure my BV7-40, setting up from scratch would not be easy. I can't move my TV unless I have someone to help. It's that heavy. Even with

Yes, but query still stands: why? You say you would 'change my mind if future devices...didn't do this decoding'. Why is it so mission-critical? It requires HDMI 1.3 support, few Blu-ray discs ship with DTS-HD and other formats such as uncompressed PCM are hard to beat, which the BS3 supports. Yes, 24fps support is fairly important as you

Not only is the box huge, but the TV is very heavy. Even the stand base is quite difficult for most people to manoeuvre in to place. You really need two strong engineers to move your BV7-40. Why on earth do you have to pick it up from your dealer?

Thanks for this info The Stig. It's the info we've all been waiting for.
