Best is very subjective! I have at present the following systems up and running: Beolab 8000 including MS150s Beosystem 4401 with M100s Beolab 5000 with Beovox 5000 and 2500s Beosystem 5500 with a Beogram 4004 and Beolab 3s Becenter 2 and surround system. I think the best sounding is my 4401, the one I am most fond of is the Beolab 5000 and the best

The 8000 system is very big and very complex. I would go for something simpler but equally good looking. A 2400 system - Beomaster 2400-2 and a Beogram 4004 or a 2402 if you are looking for a more budget system. That and a pair of S75 speakers would make an excellent system and probably for less than £200 if you opt for the 2402. Lovely sound

Essentially if your system works with a Beolink 1000 or Beo4, the BeoTime can work it. No real need to borrow one to find out and the dealer is more likely to lend you a Beo4 than the BeoTime.

The amplifier in the 7000 will drive any B&O speaker adequately. It also has Powerlink sockets so can use any modern Beolab as well. I disagree with Graham on this one though - the Beomaster 7000 with a Beolink 1000 is only operating at half its potential. You cannot program and you lose the two way communication. Yes, the Beolink 7000 is getting

The comparison here is with the SMMC1 and MMC2. There is a lot of difference between Soundsmith cartridges and the original cartridges - the Soundsmith ones are far more modern sounding , being much more forward. This gives a definite impression of more detail but can produce listener fatigue. The originals have the more typical B&O sound with plenty
-
Now that really is a good device. A mini 8000 system is some ways!
-
No, but you can mount a shelf. For wall mounting, the Beosystem 4500 is the way forward - it is actually a Beocenter 9500 reduced to the essential bits! Nice but make sure you check the glass panel is well attached!

I think you are reading the wrong figures. The 0.6mV figure is the mV/cm/sec value for the cartridge. The average music output is 3mV. On the whole, B&O cartridges are just the same as most Moving Magnet cartridges. However the output is very slightly lower so the volume control will usually have to be one notch higher compared to something like

He has chosen the following, as they appear in the pre-prepared talk: Beomaster 900K Beolab 5000 system (Beolab, Beomaster & Beogram 3000 + Beovox 2500s) (The Beovox 5000s are just too big!) Beogram 4000 I may take a Beomaster 2400 along just because it, as a representative of the 1900, was also a very important piece.

There will of course be the full present range there - my contribution will mainly be old equipment.
