Hi Louise, don't blame yourself, the option settings can get very confusing! Your problem is indeed that the BV receives the commands from two sources now. As I understand, you want the TV sound to always come through the Beomaster. I believe you can get the behaviour you want by configuring the TV to option 0 and the Beomaster to option 2. In this

Does it get unusually hot? Most probably this is the classic problem of the idle current setup trimpots being shot. They do that with old age, then the power amp eats too much current, and the protection circuits shut the Beomaster down before there's a change of more damage. If this is the cause, it is a relatively easy and quick fix with cheap

I have no idea, it's not an "older TV" for me You may be right about the controller problem. Otherwise I believe it would work with BV3 as well, if you can still assign a decoder to RF channels on it.

I have a faint memory of reading that on some TVs you can configure the TV command to actually select DTV - but of course this will only help if you really don't need the internal analogue tuner for anything. I don't know if the BV8 was one of these TVs, hopefully somebody who knows will spot this thread. Alternatively, search the forums for
