David: Ps i really like the 1202, for design For pure authenticity you should look for a Beogram 1200, if you decide to go that route, as this is the unit that was selected by the Museum of Modern Art together with another six of Jacob Jensen's designs. The 1202 looks quite similar, yet ... They're not as expensive as you'd think. A friend

Well, if matching isn't an issue, then I would go for a mint condition Beogram 1200. http://www.beocentral.com/products/bg1200 I think the Beosystem 7000 record player would be too boxy next to the BeoSound 4. A mint 8500 would match nicely, and the above would be a talking point.

I think your original choices are quite good, given that you'll be connecting to a BeoSound 4. But I don't know enough about RIAA in the 4500/8500/9500. I do know that the 8500's finish might be a closer match to the foot of the BeoSound 4, while the 9500 is very mirror image ... they're otherwise identical.

I don't have a BeoVision 7, but I was told that the AV-4, R/L connections in socket panel two was best for connecting an external music player? I don't know whether there's a difference in the circuitry of the Camcorder connectors and the AV-4 R/L, might be worth trying out. And please correct me if I'm out to lunch here.

Ah, the plastic bag vs. Louis Vuitton conundrum. "Do I go for inexpensive utility or expressive exclusivity?" It appears my girlfriend has that one figured out!

Here's one trend. Soon people will be demanding 1080p on the screens of their mobile phones.

An excellent gift to oneself! I was quite impressed that my Beogram CD6500 delivered a pure digital signal to the BL5s. If you run both connections (PL and digital), and then disconnect the digital one from the back of your CD-player, you'll actually hear the change in sound character from digital to through-powerlink. Be curious to hear what you

Roger: The new remote that takes simplicity to a new level will be launched in October - which most likely will be just in time for Xmas Roger Oh, oh! I have one of those!

Follow PL. The BL5 just takes the best signal it can find, but it obeys the source that the Beomaster/BeoCenter, etc, is playing. I'm routing my digital CD signal through an S/PDIF switcher, that will also take the TosLink S/PDIF from my Mac mediacenter. It won't matter whether I'm playing a CD or files on my computer, the BL5s will still

Ah, thanks for pointing that out! He-he ... reading between the lines is sometimes hard work, right?
