  • Re: Foam rot...

Following Buranteks thread.... What I can share with you all is my parents still have the S45 beovox (yes the early 1980's range...) and they have been kept in a smoke free and dry environment, and were never exposed to direct sunlight..In fact they are still in the same house and position in their living room as the day they were purchased....

  • Re: Who will be the next David Lewis?

Hi, Couldn't agree more with the concept of if we could have back Jacob Jensen ... Was commenting only yesterday why doesn't B&O take the opportunity to 'reinterpret' some of its past classic and iconic designs.. most of these pieces from the 70s and 80s still look thoroughly modern 30 years on, so much so that many people don't

  • Re: Blue-sky idea... CD for Beosystem 8000/6000?

Hey Mike, Wondering how your project is coming along? Would be very interested to see. Presently I wont put just any CD player next to my BM6000, I have it linked to a stacking one with my DVD player etc under my TV nearby, but would love to have a matching CD unit to sit next to it. It was the long 'console' design of this system which I really

  • Re: Recapped S80.2's.

Hi All, My caps arrived, with many thanks to Martin and I've had them installed. And, the S80's sound fantastic. Consistent with everyones results, the sound is cleaner, brighter and in my opinion so much more balanced. The top end is now crisp and clean offset against the bass giving more depth and richness. Details are also more apparent,

Hey, Job well done, yet another testiment to changing the caps in speakers. I am currently eagerly awaiting my caps from Martin to carryout the same. I have exactly the same setup as you, and like yours the sound is good ... however after much testing and being very critical, I have decided my speakers are a bit unbalanced. Generally they sound good

Hi Solderon, Thanks for your advice, will add it to the list of things to check and change. Yes is quite odd, as i mentioned earlier, it started to occur and became almost daily and now has completely stopped. Have a good day.

  • Re: Collecting B&O

Hi Peter, Thought I might revive this thread . . . as its was a very interesting question, especially for me as I think my collection would have to be quite focused and considered, living on the other side of the world where preowned pieces are not readily available and considerable sums are required to get units here you need to think carefully and

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all your ideas on how to nip this problem in the bud... Will try each and see whether it solves the issue .. unfortunately its not a music loving cat! Failing that i will venture into unchartered territory and try opening up the unit and see if I spot any of the internal issues suggested... Have downloaded service manual , so
