• Re: O.T. Non B&O Speaker Question

Hi Craig Hacker was a very traditional British company that made excellent radios - think traditional Roberts Radio styling with wood end cheeks to the radio, only better. I've owned 4 or 5 of them at various times since 1970. They made stereo systems as well, along the lines of Beocenters with tuner/amplifier/turntable in a wooden box- often based

  • Re: I just couldn't resist!

Simon, Really pleased you found one - it's something on my list as well! Nice to know the seller seems to have a good reputation as well - I have been tempted by a couple of items from them in the past as they are within easy traveling distance Cleve

  • Re: What is your favourite B&O reciever/amplifier?

I have been trying to resist contributing to this thread as I'm not sure I'm really qualified to express a view - I've not owned nearly as many Beomasters as some of the Beoworlders who have posted, but here goes. I currently have both a Beomaster 4400 and an 8000 - both from Peter so the provenance was always unimpeachable. I love them

  • Re: Beolink 1000
I am in need of an additional Beolink 1000 (any version) in working condition. Cosmetics are relatively unimportant as long as that is reflected in the price! I am based in the UK. Thanks Simon
Hi Simon, You have a PM
MMM me too. Do you know the costs? do you have to provide the Overture, or do you have to buy theirs complete?
I know very little about it really. Found the reference on Beocentral. It certainly looks attractive and it could provide a viable option for the next generation of 2500/2300/3000/3200 BeoCenters! Cleve
My 9000 now has a new owner and I hope he got the MA-XG tape I sent with it!
Yes he did, thank you! And I'm looking forward to using it for something really worthwhile. On the idea of converting a cassette compartment for an Ipod, have a look at this. I am tempted! http://www.beodesign.org/ Cleve

  • Re: B&O CD and amps for audiophile?

Agree wholeheartedly about the quality of the CDX. Wonderful player. My first CD player was a Phillips CD104, the source unit for the CDX, which I used with a Quad 34/FM4/405/ESL63 set up and it's still the best CD sound I have heard (although my memory is going now) Cleve
At this price, I can live with teak! Thanks :)
Ben - it's yours. But I have to emphasis it isn't working and I've taken the top plate off and not put it back on. But if you want it, you can pick it up when you're next down this way. Cleve
Hi Cleve, Please put the rosewood 5000 to one side for me! Ben
Ben, Sorry, you're just missed out - I have had a PM an hour ago. The Teak one is still available! Cleve
You ought to keep a 5000! These are the only true B&O cassette recorder! Even I have kept one of these!
Peter, I know I should, but even our 'Fleet friend' thinks I have two too many! At the moment the Rosewood one sits elegantly but quietly (very quietly!) alongside my BG 4004, but space is now at
