  • Re: BANG & OLUFSEN magazine coming soon!

I must have odd taste, as I love the painted Beolab 5's. I remember seeing a painted BL5 early last year in a magazine, the design was subtle and not flashy as was in the BeoMag, but I like it nonetheless. B & O could have a niche industry on their hands if designer fabric were available as the cloth covers for their speakers. -Sal

  • Re: Beolab 4000 vs BL5

Agreed, the 4000s are a great speaker, arguably the best price/value ratio on their range. The BL5 on the other hand... a league of their own. The debate on the old Beoworld site was 4000 vs 6000 (and usually the 4000s won hands down), and 8000 vs BL3 (that was much less than clear cut). Add a BL2 in the mix and the BL3's have a distinct edge. Although

  • Re: My BV 7-40 MKIII Full HD Dark Grey has finally arrived! Pictures, info, and much more...!

Thanks for sharing your photos Frederik. The decision I will have to make next year, BV8 (cheaper, better for the WAF), or BV7 (higher quality, comes with the higher price tag)... But I would have to commend you on the dark grey choice of color. As a B & O finish purist, I would have to agree that the grey is awesome! -Sal

  • Re: Mutiple ML distribution boxes.... Quick if possible...

The labels on the ports on the ML distribution box, apparently, are for aid only, and don't meal a thing regarding the kind of connection you're going to link to... I say apparently, because (maybe it was my setup), but the LINK 1, etc ports really acted like Links when I wanted to merely extend a ML cable's length in an ML experiment in

  • Just when you try everything...

... the answer shows how idiotic I am! So I finished wiring Beoport in my living room (I have a Mac Mini Music Library) in a bookshelf masterlinked to a Beosound 9000 which is hung on the wall. Everything seems to be working. Except no sound! I unwire, rewire, play around with the Beoport software configuration, etc... NOTHING... (the speakers; a Beolab

  • Re: Problem with Airport Express & BL3

I assume you have tried to fiddle with the preferences for AirTunes in: Preferences > Advanced > General Tab > middle section which describes how iTunes handles sound through Airport. I have BL3's connected to a BS9000 to which an AEXpress is connected through AUX input, and I have had no volume abnormalities. Please note that my preferences

  • Re: A8s - are they easy to repair?

Would it be cheaper to buy new A8's than repair them? Of course, that would depend on what needs fixing exactly, and how much skill and time the technician would need to use. Besides, how much is your time worth, which brings me back to: would it be cheaper to buy new A8's then to repair an out of warranty unit? -Sal

  • Re: The Torben Ballegaard Sørensen Interview..

9 LEE: TBS – We are exploring both Linux and Windows, and at this moment we see Windows as a safer technology platform for us in the short run. We have a good collaboration with Apple in the stores with the earphones in the USA, and are even experimenting with BeoLab 4 – but one thing that we will never do though is imitate. Although I agree

  • Re: Finally - Entry Level TV coming to US BV 8 32" around 4000$ 1st quarter 2008

Looks do grow on people. At first I thought: "What the heck is that shelf all about?" But looking at more and more pictures of it, it's pretty snazzy. Except for the Bang & Olufsen lettering on the speaker grills. -Sal

  • Re: B&O and flatmates

Sort of related, but I have NEVER allowed anyone to move, alter my B & O. Whenever I have moved from one place to another, the B & O is one of a few things I entrust to only myself. As for roomies, maybe telling them what the B & O is worth and making them sign something that states if anyting gets damaged, they'll have to foot the bill
