The Avant needs a room with high ceilings to look its best. BV3 has the advantage of height placement options. It's a shame B&O did not offer the LX/MX as 16:9 versions. The Avant or BV3 will take over your room and are not as restful to the eye as the classic designs were. I replaced my LX with an Avant but miss the LX when it's switched

I solved my quandary in a way because the scarts do output the source from the 'camcord' inputs which I can use for the purpose. However there is some bleed through from this input audible on DTV.
-
Can I set this scart up to output an incoming source? I am able to monitor TV/DTV/VTAPE/DVD from the 'decoder' scart via an external RF unit but not the signal from my Zune player. Both are connected to 'decoder' with a scart to 6 phono lead. Thanks for help on this, David

Can you 'open up' the scart or phono inputs to the V8000 without it being in rec-pause or record mode? ...and I don't think the deck's modulator can be made to stay on all the time when not in use (play/record/rec-pause etc) like other make VCR's. It would be a useful feature. David

The V8000 modulator could be used for the purpose but it has to be manually turned on and obviously goes off at standby. I thought I could use the Avant for my V.Aux source but for this I would indeed need the modulator to be on all the time. I will need to purchase a standalone RF modulator for the purpose with a scart loop through. Thanks for the

I am trying to set up my Avant so that I can watch its sources on an MX4000 TV in another room via RF. I can get the test pattern OK on the selected output 'link' frequency (601) but only when I bring up the Avant's link frequency tuning menu. Following storing of the settings and selecting v.aux or v.tape on the Avant I get nothing on 601

Thanks for the help. David

frankmj: david707: Put the BC9500 in A.OPTION 1, then it shouldn't listen to video commands. /Frank The 9500 still opens the Aux port using A.option 1 and V.option 2 at the same time as picture mute. This is OK unless I want to mute the TV sound and listen to the radio. It then becomes a problem because volume and muting is simultaneous on the 9500

Frank, My Avant picture mute works in V.Option 2. For e.g TV>list>AV>TV. The picture mutes followed about one minute later by the motor stand returning to the standby position and the tube turning off. I have an unconnected BC9500 in the room which switches on to Aux when I do this. Is there another option to mute the picture without affecting

I spoke too soon! My Avant (MK2) will not mute the picture using source>list>AV>source as described in other threads. Is there no way to switch off the picture on this version?
