Does somebody know if it is possible to upgrade the sound of a 8000? Go for beolab 9's. Beovox pentas sound great and only with lab 9's you will hear a big difference. If money matters, BL8000 or BL3s should also do the job.

GET READY, HERE GOES THE SPANISH CREW!

I like the 2400 more than any on the other similar models. I like the display and the uncluttered touch area. The 4500 is too shiny and the 3500 too dull. The 3300 is a grey colour with yellow green illumination which I don't like, the 2000 and 3000 have the odd looking block volume display and one of them loses the numbers for the radio display

Peter : I am however going to be replacing this set up fairly soon! Beolab 5000, Beomaster 5000, Beogram 3000 Thorens ! Simply the best made B&O available. Very interesting post indeed. I tought the Beogram 4000 is the best turntable ever build by BnO, isn't it? (you actually own it!).

If you go for the BL4s don't ever play the Transformers movie or Jean Michel Jarré in China concert. Those labs just can't do the job. I would choose the BL4000's. However the best choice in my opinion will be BL3's. If you wall mount them they have the advantage that you can direct the speaker towards the ears of the listeners

Great choice Mike. Have lots of fun!

Big deal of difference between these two speakers. BL4s are probay the worst in quality/cost rate (according to my B&O store) eventhough they are the cheaper in the range. BL3 are in a league on its own. Lots of power and clarity for your money. If yo finally go for the 4's, put them over a holder that could raise them one inch above the table

The acoustic lense in the BL3s is a great advantage if your living room does not allow for perfect placement. Also, the power/size rate in the 3's is hard to beat by any speaker. Agree, the BL4000 will give you a better response on lower frequencies. It's a matter of taste. To me BL3s are a clear winner and will only doubt if you are comparing

Jez: My BV7-40 was worth every penny, hell i might get one for the bedroom too.
