You might also consider a remote converter such as Lintronic or Irtrans. I have actually used Lintronic to convert Apple Remote codes, and the codes for the DLO Ipod Dock.

I don't know that it's a good idea for complete system control. In fact it's probably a terrible idea. In North America the Beo1 was never available so I can't really speak to how it worked. However, Apple also seems to think that a minimalist control is a good idea. At least this is true for Front Row, Ipod, AppleTV. But comapared to

It will work via a Lintronic converter. I have one that I purchased from Lee and it controls my Apple TV perfectly. I've tested it for volume and channel up/down on the Avant. That also works.

I think they will end up opening AppleTV to 3rd party developers. I really thinks it's inevitable. My ideal solution would be for the current BM-Link available for MAC to be ported to AppleTV which would allow for connection of Beoport to the USB port on AppleTV and full control via Beo4. Then we would have link room capabilities etc.

It can already be done (with Lintronic). You can use a Beo4 or a Beo1. Still, I too am eager fot the new toy (er Remote).

Another forum member reported ordering this: http://www.svideo.com/appletv2tv.html You may want to do a search an wait for a report. It seems easier. The video quality on AppleTV isn't that great any way, so it's really for music.

I believe true HD quality downloads from any source are still some time away. It really is a matter of file size, bandwith, and downloading time. I too believe AppleTV is the media center.

I don't see how Apple TV could be controlled with a beo4 except with Lintronic. Unless of course the BV7's IR database has already been updated with the AppleTV IR codes.

All BS3000 are not the same. I have a BS3000 and it is the version that does not have N-Music capability. The good news is they can be upgraded. I understand it is not very expensive. I'm sure your dealer can help. Good luck.

I listen to mp3 (192+) for background. Much the same way that I listen to radio or even podcasts now. When listening to classical music seriously, I always use CD. There is a big difference in my mind.
